Darcy The Dragon

[00:00:00] Darcy The Dragon - Roger Whittaker

[00:00:09] Christmas was coming and Darcy the dragon

[00:00:11] Was thinking what he should do

[00:00:14] Go through the forest and into the village

[00:00:16] To pick up a gift or two

[00:00:18] For through the forest

[00:00:20] Dear Darcy had friends

[00:00:21] That he loved very much

[00:00:23] He thought it'd be fine

[00:00:25] At Christmas time

[00:00:26] To give each a present or such

[00:00:28] But Darcy'd forgotten the very thing

[00:00:31] That makes a dragon unique

[00:00:33] Unlike a horse

[00:00:34] A dragon

[00:00:35] Of course

[00:00:36] Breathes fire whenever he speaks

[00:00:38] Off to town

[00:00:39] Dear Darcy went

[00:00:41] But woe is me

[00:00:42] Oh lament

[00:00:43] Before a dragon penny was spent

[00:00:46] He'd started a tiny fire

[00:00:52] He said he was sorry

[00:00:53] Our Darcy did

[00:00:54] He helped put the fire out

[00:00:57] The folks forgave him for he'd been kind

[00:00:59] And off he went looking about

[00:01:02] Into the toyshop did Darcy go

[00:01:04] With thoughts of his forest friends

[00:01:06] I'll buy each a game

[00:01:07] He said with a flame

[00:01:09] And the second fire it was then

[00:01:11] And this time

[00:01:12] When the fire was out

[00:01:13] The villagers charged along

[00:01:16] Pursuing Darcy with angry shouts

[00:01:18] Be off away be gone

[00:01:20] Poor Darcy sparked

[00:01:22] No harm I meant

[00:01:23] But from the village

[00:01:24] He was sent

[00:01:26] And woe is me and oh lament

[00:01:28] No presents for his friends

[00:01:35] Darcy was sad

[00:01:36] As he sat at the edge of the forest

[00:01:38] By and by

[00:01:39] No gifts would he have to offer his friends

[00:01:42] A tear rolled from his eye

[00:01:44] A storm did gather and soon did hit

[00:01:47] Twas a mighty wind that blew

[00:01:49] And Christmas snow did whirl and blow

[00:01:52] And he wondered what to do

[00:01:54] As Darcy let out with a dragon's cry

[00:01:56] He opened his mouth so wide

[00:01:59] That the wind

[00:02:00] And snow went right down his throat

[00:02:01] And put out the fire inside

[00:02:04] When Darcy realized the fire was out

[00:02:06] First a whisper

[00:02:07] Then a shout

[00:02:09] And a laugh

[00:02:10] To know

[00:02:10] That he could speak without starting another fire

[00:02:18] But now it was late

[00:02:19] On a Christmas Eve

[00:02:20] He was up and off with a roar

[00:02:22] He raced to the village and he cried out

[00:02:24] My fire 'e un no more

[00:02:27] From shop to shop

[00:02:28] He then did go

[00:02:29] In each

[00:02:30] He made his choice

[00:02:32] Darcy was treated so kindly now

[00:02:34] No need to fear his voice

[00:02:37] The villagers came to the edge of town

[00:02:39] And Darcy waved goodbye

[00:02:41] Come back again

[00:02:43] If ever you can

[00:02:44] They said

[00:02:44] And he said that he'd try

[00:02:46] Merry Christmas

[00:02:47] All did say

[00:02:49] As to the woods

[00:02:50] He made his way

[00:02:51] Tomorrow will be Christmas day

[00:02:53] And a merry Christmas to thee
