Uneasy Rider(Live in the USA - Summer 1999)

[00:00:00] Uneasy Rider (Live) - Br5-49

[00:00:01] Written by:Charlie Daniels

[00:00:23] I was takin' a trip out to LA

[00:00:25] Toolin' along in my cheverolet

[00:00:27] Tokin' on a number and diggin' on the radio

[00:00:30] Just as I crossed the Mississippi line

[00:00:32] I heard that highway start to whine

[00:00:34] And I knew that left rear tire was about to blow

[00:00:37] Well the spare was flat and I got uptight

[00:00:38] Cause there wasn't a filling station in sight

[00:00:40] So I just limped on down the shoulder on the rim

[00:00:44] I went as far as I could and when I stopped the car

[00:00:45] It was right in front of this little bar

[00:00:47] Kind of a red neck lookin' joint called the dew drop inn

[00:00:57] I stuffed my hair up under my hat

[00:00:58] And told the bartender that I had a flat

[00:01:00] And would he be kind enough to give me change for a one

[00:01:03] There was one thing I was sure proud to see

[00:01:05] There wasn't a soul in the place except for him and me

[00:01:07] He just looked disgusted and pointed toward the telephone

[00:01:10] I called up the station down the road away

[00:01:12] He said he wasn't very busy today

[00:01:13] And he could have someone about 10 minutes or so

[00:01:17] He said now you just stay right where your at

[00:01:19] But I didn't bother to tell the darn fool

[00:01:20] I sure as hell didn't have anyplace else to go

[00:01:24] I just ordered up a beer and sat down at the bar

[00:01:26] When some guy walked in and said

[00:01:26] Who owns this car with the peace sign

[00:01:28] The mag wheels and the four on the floor

[00:01:31] He looked at me and I damn near died

[00:01:32] And I decided that I'd just wait outside

[00:01:34] So I laid a dollar on the bar and headed for the door

[00:01:44] Just when I thought I'd get outta there with my skin

[00:01:45] These 5 big dudes come strolling in

[00:01:47] With one old drunk chick and some fella with green teeth

[00:01:50] I was almost to the door when the biggest one

[00:01:52] Said you tip your hat to this lady son

[00:01:53] And when I did all that hair fell out from underneath

[00:01:57] Now the last thing I wanted was to get a fight

[00:01:59] In Jackson Mississippi on a Saturday night

[00:02:00] Especially when there was three of them and only one of me

[00:02:04] They all started laughing and I felt kinda sick

[00:02:05] And I knew I better think of something pretty quick

[00:02:07] I just reached out and kicked old green teeth right in the knee

[00:02:10] He let out a yell that'd curl your hair

[00:02:12] But before he moved I grabbed me a chair and said

[00:02:14] Watch him folks 'cause he's a thoroughly dangerous man

[00:02:17] I said you may not know it but this man is a spy

[00:02:19] He's a undercover agent for the FBI

[00:02:20] He's been sent down here to infiltrate the Ku Klux Klan

[00:02:24] He was still bent over holding on to his knee

[00:02:26] But everybody else was looking and listening to me

[00:02:27] And I laid it on thicker and heavier as I went

[00:02:30] I said would you believe this man has gone as far

[00:02:32] As tearing Wallace stickers off the bumpers of cars

[00:02:34] And he voted for George McGovern for president

[00:02:37] He's a friend of them long haired hippy type pinko fags

[00:02:39] I betchya he's even got a commie flag

[00:02:41] Tacked up on the wall inside of his garage

[00:02:44] He's a snake in the grass I tell ya guys

[00:02:46] He may look dumb but that's just a disguise

[00:02:48] He's a mastermind in the ways of espionage

[00:02:57] They all started looking real suspicious at him

[00:02:59] He jumped up and said now just wait a minute Jim

[00:03:01] You know he's lying I been living here all of my life

[00:03:03] I'm a faithful follower of brother John Birch

[00:03:05] And I belong to the Antioch baptist church

[00:03:07] And I ain't even got a garage

[00:03:09] You can call home and ask my wife

[00:03:10] Then he started saying somethin' 'bout the way I was dressed

[00:03:12] But I didn't wait around to hear the rest

[00:03:14] I was too busy moving and hoping I didn't run outta luck

[00:03:17] When I hit the ground I was making tracks

[00:03:19] And they were just taking my car down off the jacks

[00:03:20] So I threw the man a twenty

[00:03:21] And jumped in and fired that mother up

[00:03:24] Mario Andretti would sure been proud

[00:03:25] Of the way I was moving when I passed that crowd

[00:03:27] Coming out the door and headed toward me at a trot

[00:03:30] And I guess I should gone ahead and run

[00:03:32] But somehow I just couldn't resist the fun

[00:03:34] Of chasing them all just once around the parking lot

[00:03:43] Well they headed for their car but I hit the gas

[00:03:45] And spun around and headed them off at the pass

[00:03:47] I was slinging gravel and putting a ton of dust in the air

[00:03:50] I had them all out there stepping and fetching

[00:03:52] Like their heads was on fire and their asses was catching

[00:03:53] Outside I go ahead

[00:03:54] And split before the cops got there

[00:03:57] When I hit the road I was really wheeling

[00:03:59] Had gravel flying and rubber squeeling

[00:04:00] And I didn't slow down till I was almost to Arkansas

[00:04:03] I think I'm gonna reroute my trip

[00:04:05] I wonder if anybody'd think I'd flipped

[00:04:07] I went to LA via Omaha
