第25期人生感悟(5)

[00:00:00] 第25期人生感悟(5)-英语听力

[00:00:12] A Full-Time School Called Life

[00:00:15] You are enrolled in a full-time school called "life".

[00:00:20] Each day in this school

[00:00:21] you will have the opportunity to learn lessons.

[00:00:25] You may like the lessons or hate them,

[00:00:28] but you have designed them as part of your curriculum.

[00:00:33] Why are you here?

[00:00:34] What is your purpose?

[00:00:36] Humans have sought to discover

[00:00:38] the meaning of life for a very long time.

[00:00:42] What we and our ancestors have to overlook,

[00:00:45] however, is that there is no one answer.

[00:00:49] The meaning of life is different for every individual.

[00:00:53] Each person has his or her

[00:00:54] own purpose and distinct path,

[00:00:58] unique and separate from anyone else's.

[00:01:02] As your travel through your lifetime,

[00:01:05] you may encounter challenging lessons

[00:01:07] that others don't have to face,

[00:01:10] while others spend years struggling with challenges

[00:01:13] that you don't need to deal with.

[00:01:16] You cannot be sure why you struggle financially

[00:01:19] while your peers enjoy abundance.

[00:01:22] The only thing you can count on for certain is

[00:01:25] that you will be presented with all the lessons

[00:01:29] that you specifically need to learn;

[00:01:31] whether you choose to learn them

[00:01:33] or not is entirely up to you.

[00:01:37] The challenge here, therefore,

[00:01:39] is to fit in with your own unique path

[00:01:42] by learning individual lessons.

[00:01:45] This is one of the most difficult challenges

[00:01:47] you will be faced with in your lifetime,

[00:01:50] as sometimes your path will be

[00:01:53] radically different from others.

[00:01:55] But, remember, don't compare your path

[00:01:59] to the people around you

[00:02:00] and focus on the great difference

[00:02:02] between their lessons and yours.

[00:02:06] You need to remember

[00:02:07] that you will only be faced with lessons

[00:02:10] that you are capable of learning

[00:02:12] and are specific to your own growth.

[00:02:16] Our sense of fairness is the expectation of equity,

[00:02:21] the assumption that all things are equal

[00:02:23] and that justice will always prevail.

[00:02:26] Life is not, in fact, fair,

[00:02:29] and you may indeed have a more difficult life path

[00:02:32] than others around you, deserved or not.

[00:02:37] Everyone's circumstances are unique,

[00:02:40] and everyone needs to handle his or her

[00:02:42] own circumstances differently.

[00:02:45] If you want to move toward peace,

[00:02:48] you will be required to move out of

[00:02:51] the complaining phase of "it's not fair".

[00:02:53] Focusing on the unfairness of circumstances

[00:02:57] keeps you comparing yourself with others

[00:02:59] rather than appreciating your own special uniqueness.

[00:03:03] You miss out on learning your individual lessons

[00:03:07] by distracting yourself

[00:03:08] with feelings of bitterness and resentment.
