Johnny McIldoo

[00:00:00] Johnny McIldoo - The Bachelors

[00:00:26] There was Johnny McEldoo and McGee and me

[00:00:31] And a couple of two or three went on the spree one day

[00:00:34] We had a bob or two which we knew how to blew

[00:00:36] And the beer and whiskey flew and we all felt gay

[00:00:39] We visited McCann's Maclaman's Humpty Dan's

[00:00:41] We then went into Swan's our stomachs for to pack

[00:00:44] We ordered up a feed which indeed we did need

[00:00:46] And we finished it with speed but we still felt slack

[00:00:49] Johnny McEldoo turned red white and blue

[00:00:51] As a plate of irish stew he soon put out of sight

[00:00:53] He shouted out "Encore " with a roar for some more

[00:00:56] That he'd never felt before such a keen appetite

[00:00:58] We ordered eggs and ham bread and jam what a cram

[00:01:00] But him we couldn't ram though we tried our level best

[00:01:03] For everthing we brought cold or hot mattered not

[00:01:05] It went down him like a shot and he still stood the test

[00:01:08] He swallowed tripe and lard by the yard we got scared

[00:01:10] We thought it would go hard when the waiter brought the bill

[00:01:12] We told him to give o'er but he swore he could lower

[00:01:14] Twice as much again and more before he had his fill

[00:01:17] He nearly supped a trough full of broth says McGragh

[00:01:19] "He'll devour the tablecloth if you don't hold him in"

[00:01:21] When the waiter brought the charge McEldoo felt so large

[00:01:23] He began to shout and barge and his blood went on fire

[00:01:26] He began to curse and swear tear his hair in despair

[00:01:28] To finish the affair called the shop man a liar

[00:01:30] The shop man he threw out and no doubt he did clout

[00:01:32] McEldoo he kicked about like an old football

[00:01:35] Tattered all his clothes broke his nose I suppose

[00:01:37] He would have killed him with a few blows in no time at all

[00:01:39] Mceldoo began to howl and to growl by my soul

[00:01:41] Threw an empty bowl at the shop keepers head

[00:01:43] It struck poor Mickey Flynn took the skin from his chin

[00:01:46] An a ruction did begin and we all fought and bled

[00:01:48] The peelers did arrive man alive four or five

[00:01:50] At us they made a dive for us all to march away

[00:01:52] We paid for all the meat that we ate stood a trait

[00:01:54] And went home to ruminate on the spree that day
