《Poem in October》歌词

Poem in October

[00:00:00] Poem in October - Richard Burton

[00:00:01] It was my thirtieth year to heaven

[00:00:03] Woke to my hearing from harbour

[00:00:05] And neighbour wood

[00:00:05] And the mussel pooled and the heron

[00:00:07] Priested shore

[00:00:08] The morning beckon

[00:00:09] With water praying and call of seagull and rook

[00:00:12] And the knock of sailing boats

[00:00:14] On the net webbed wall

[00:00:16] Myself to set foot

[00:00:17] That second

[00:00:18] In the still sleeping town and set forth

[00:00:24] My birthday began with the water-

[00:00:25] Birds and the birds of the

[00:00:27] Winged trees flying my name

[00:00:28] Above the farms and the white horses

[00:00:30] And I rose

[00:00:30] In rainy autumn

[00:00:31] And walked abroad in a shower of all my days

[00:00:36] High tide and the heron dived

[00:00:39] When I took the road

[00:00:40] Over the border

[00:00:41] And the gates

[00:00:42] Of the town closed as the town awoke

[00:00:45] A springful of larks in a rolling

[00:00:47] Cloud and the roadside bushes brimming with whistling

[00:00:49] Blackbirds and the sun of October

[00:00:52] Summery

[00:00:52] On the hill's shoulder

[00:00:55] Here were fond climates

[00:00:56] And sweet singers suddenly

[00:00:58] Come in the morning

[00:00:59] Where I wandered and listened

[00:01:01] To the rain wringing

[00:01:02] Wind blow cold

[00:01:04] In the wood faraway under me

[00:01:09] Pale rain over the dwindling harbour

[00:01:12] And over the sea wet church the size of a snail

[00:01:15] With it's horns through mist and the castle

[00:01:17] Brown as owls

[00:01:19] But all the gardens

[00:01:20] Of spring and summer were

[00:01:21] Blooming in the tall tales

[00:01:23] Beyond the border and under the lark full cloud

[00:01:28] There could I marvel

[00:01:29] My birthday

[00:01:30] Away but the weather turned around

[00:01:36] It turned away from the blithe country

[00:01:38] And down the other air

[00:01:40] And the blue altered sky

[00:01:41] Streamed again a wonder of summer

[00:01:43] With apples

[00:01:44] Pears and red currants

[00:01:45] And I saw in the turning so clearly a child's

[00:01:48] Forgotten mornings when he walked with his mother

[00:01:50] Through the parables

[00:01:51] Of sun light

[00:01:52] And the legends of the green chapels

[00:01:55] And the twice told fields of infancy

[00:01:58] That his tears burned my cheeks

[00:02:01] And his heart moved in mine

[00:02:05] These were the woods the river and sea

[00:02:07] Where a boy

[00:02:08] In the listening

[00:02:09] Summertime of the dead whispered the truth of his joy

[00:02:11] To the trees and the stones and the fish in the tide

[00:02:15] And the mystery

[00:02:16] Sang alive

[00:02:17] Still in the water and singingbirds

[00:02:21] And there could I marvel my birthday

[00:02:23] Away but the weather turned around

[00:02:28] And the true

[00:02:29] Joy of the long dead child sang burning

[00:02:35] In the sun

[00:02:39] It was my thirtieth

[00:02:40] Year to heaven stood there then

[00:02:42] In the summer noon

[00:02:44] Though the town below lay

[00:02:45] Leaved with October blood

[00:02:50] O may my heart's truth

[00:02:52] Still be sung

[00:02:53] On this high hill in a year's turning
