[00:01:46] As soon as I stepped foot in the open mic it was like a reunion

[00:01:50] I was a shoe in

[00:01:51] I met Kino there too

[00:01:52] And he asked me to manage me

[00:01:54] And that was back in like let me see

[00:01:56] '97 my girl was pregnant

[00:01:58] Hurdles was prevalent

[00:01:59] And it was therapeutic just for me to breathe into my mic

[00:02:02] Started learning why the Lord put certain people in my life

[00:02:04] And the way he started blessing me uh

[00:02:06] I guess before my inner demons got the best of me

[00:02:09] Like sneezing was my vice

[00:02:10] Needless to say that December 29th was the day

[00:02:12] I became a believer in fate

[00:02:14] Okay now it's December 28th

[00:02:16] My day has gone great

[00:02:17] Kino booked me a show under contract to do that night

[00:02:20] I got a call from my girl's people

[00:02:22] Saying she's in labor in the hospital right now 9th floor

[00:02:26] I get on the elevator

[00:02:27] Elevator stops on the 5th floor

[00:02:29] Elevator opens up

[00:02:30] My uncle's standing there crying

[00:02:32] Now I'm caught off guard I'm like what the f**k

[00:02:35] My uncle standing there like Ryan they that way

[00:02:38] I walk out I see my momma and that entire side of my family

[00:02:41] Looking like there's some kind of drama happenin'

[00:02:43] I said what happened

[00:02:44] They like Granny's been in a bad accident and it ain't looking good

[00:02:48] I'm like man what

[00:02:49] I'm having a baby four floors up

[00:02:50] Before I froze up

[00:02:51] I'm trying to figure out why the Lord chose us

[00:02:54] Or maybe chose me

[00:02:55] To ride in this emotionally roller coaster

[00:02:57] My momma said the baby here yet

[00:02:59] I said maybe

[00:03:00] She said maybe baby go see

[00:03:01] I walk away feeling like a good father the same time as a terrible son

[00:03:05] Get to my girl she 5 centimetres dilated so I waited

[00:03:09] She got to get to 'bout nine 'til it's that time

[00:03:11] And meanwhile I'm more popular in this hospital than the doctors

[00:03:14] Nurses watching whispering like that's the one right there

[00:03:17] Who got a lady in labor 9 and another lady dying on 5

[00:03:22] I don't even f**kin' remember that I got a show

[00:03:25] Somebody had to remind me

[00:03:26] The doors was already open at the venue

[00:03:29] I got emotions runnin' every which way

[00:03:32] All the nurses and stuff is like

[00:03:39] So I had to get out of there

[00:03:41] Yeah I hit the stage at 11 50 killed it

[00:03:44] I got off at about midnight

[00:03:46] With about six types of different emotions floatin' around inside me

[00:03:53] In the future just as I was about to leave out

[00:03:56] I saw Kino talkin' to Marshall and then he introduced us

[00:03:59] We talked about collaboratin' and how chasin' this rap thing is aggravatin'

[00:04:02] But I'll get back I got the family waitin'

[00:04:05] I get to skatin'

[00:04:06] As soon as I get to the hospital

[00:04:08] They tell me that my Granny didn't make it

[00:04:10] She just died I'm feelin' helpless it hurt me

[00:04:12] On the flip side my little boy is healthy in the nursery

[00:04:15] I picked him up looked in his eyes for the first time and just cried

[00:04:18] Ain't no denyin' this is the power of God

[00:04:21] I said I love you Granny and looked to the sky

[00:04:23] Like even though he just got here goodbye

[00:04:50] I learned that the universe has this way of balancing itself out

[00:04:54] For me to lose such a beautiful soul in my Granny

[00:04:57] And gain such a beautiful soul with my first born son little Royce

[00:05:01] It showed me that God is real
