《Hippie Boy》歌词

Hippie Boy

[00:00:01] Hippie Boy - The Flying Burrito Brothers

[00:00:24] I was walking down the street the other day

[00:00:27] And a sight came before my eyes

[00:00:31] It was a little hippie boy I must have been twice his size

[00:00:37] His appearance typified his strange breed

[00:00:41] Gaudy clothes long stringy hair hanging down

[00:00:46] I'd seen perhaps a thousand in my early trips to town

[00:00:53] As he walked beside me on down the block

[00:00:57] I noticed no unpleasing smell

[00:01:00] He might have been on the weed or even LSD

[00:01:04] But if he was I couldn't tell

[00:01:08] So we walked together that way through this neighborhood

[00:01:13] Finally he turned around to me

[00:01:16] He said "Friend you know we're a million miles apart

[00:01:23] But you know something we can enjoy the sunshine and the weather

[00:01:29] So why don't we put our differences aside

[00:01:32] And just talk to each other

[00:01:37] You see this box beneath my arm

[00:01:40] To you it's plain it has no charm

[00:01:44] But to someone dearest to my heart

[00:01:46] This box has played a tragic part

[00:01:56] This little one can't tell you himself about his life and how he died

[00:02:02] But if anyone else could speak for him I guess I'm qualified

[00:02:09] This boy was in Chicago he didn't know why he was there

[00:02:13] He was with his family and friends and he didn't really care

[00:02:21] You might have been one of those

[00:02:22] Who saw the struggle there on your television screen

[00:02:28] The tragic thing is so much else happened

[00:02:32] That no one else could have seen

[00:02:41] A stranger handed this boy a dollar to do a simple chore

[00:02:45] To carry a package to a nearby hotel

[00:02:48] And when he returned he'd get two more

[00:02:53] But when he came back he sort of lost his way

[00:02:56] Walking through the crowd

[00:02:58] One of them things you ask yourself how the Lord allowed

[00:03:06] But when he was found he was like he is now

[00:03:11] Dreaming sweet and still

[00:03:15] And in his little hand was a crumpled dollar bill

[00:03:25] Now you can take that dollar

[00:03:28] Get four cents on it compound it quarterly at any downtown bank

[00:03:36] So they can back some hot new tank or atom bomb

[00:03:45] What I'm going to tell you now you can stay or you can leave

[00:03:50] You kind of listened to my story so far but just one more thing

[00:03:57] It's the same for any hippie bum or hillbilly out on the street

[00:04:03] Just remember this little boy and never carry more than you can eat

[00:04:11] Now could you help us sing this song please

[00:04:17] There will be peace in the valley for him now we pray

[00:04:29] I will think of the little hippie boy that way that way
