In Old Mexico

[00:00:00] I'm sure you're all aware that this week is national gall

[00:00:04] Bladder week and so as sort of an educational feature at

[00:00:12] This point i thought i would acquaint you with some of the

[00:00:14] Results of my recent researches into the career of the late

[00:00:16] Doctor samuel gall inventor of the gall bladder which

[00:00:24] With certainly ranks as one of the more important technological

[00:00:27] Advances since the invention of the joy buzzer and the dribble

[00:00:31] Glass

[00:00:33] Dr

[00:00:37] Dr gall's faith in his invention was so dramatically vindicated

[00:00:40] Last year as you no doubt recall when for the first time

[00:00:44] In history in a nationwide poll the gall bladder was voted

[00:00:47] Among the top ten organs

[00:00:59] His educational career began interestingly enough in

[00:01:02] Agricultural school where he majored in animal husbandry

[00:01:06] Until they caught him at it one day

[00:01:25] Whereupon whereupon he switched

[00:01:27] To the field of medicine in which field he also won renown as

[00:01:31] The inventor of gargling which prior to that time had been

[00:01:36] Practiced only furtively by a remote tribe in the andes who

[00:01:41] Passed the secret down from father to son as part of their

[00:01:44] Oral tradition

[00:01:53] He soon became a specialist specializing in diseases of the

[00:01:57] Rich he was therefore able to retire at an early age

[00:02:10] To the land we all dream about sunny mexico of course

[00:02:14] The last part of which is completely irrelevant as was the

[00:02:17] Whole thing i guess except it's a rather sneaky way of

[00:02:19] Getting into this next type of popular song which is one

[00:02:21] Of those things about that magic and romantic land south of

[00:02:25] The border

[00:02:35] When it's fiesta time in guadalajara

[00:02:46] Then i long to be back once again

[00:02:49] In old mexico

[00:02:54] Where we lived for today never giving a thought to tomara

[00:03:01] To the strumming of guitars

[00:03:03] In a hundred grubby bars

[00:03:05] I would whisper te amo

[00:03:09] The mariachis would serenade

[00:03:12] And they would not shut up till they were paid

[00:03:15] We ate we drank and we were merry

[00:03:18] And we got typhoid and dysentery

[00:03:26] But best of all we went to the plaza de toros

[00:03:29] Now whenever i start feeling morose

[00:03:32] I revive by recalling that scene

[00:03:39] And names like belmonte domingu'in and manolete

[00:03:43] If i live to a hundred and eighty

[00:03:45] I shall never forget what they mean

[00:03:56] For there is surely nothing more beautiful in this

[00:03:59] World than the sight of a lone man facing single-handedly

[00:04:04] A half a ton of angry pot roast

[00:04:16] Out came the matador

[00:04:17] Who must have been potted or

[00:04:19] Slightly insane but who looked rather bored

[00:04:25] Then the picadors of course

[00:04:27] Each one on his horse

[00:04:28] I shouted olé ev'ry time one was gored

[00:04:35] I cheered at the banderilleros' display

[00:04:38] As they stuck the bull in their own clever way

[00:04:40] For i hadn't had so much fun since the day

[00:04:44] My brother's dog rover

[00:04:46] Got run over

[00:04:53] Rover was killed by a pontiac and it was done

[00:04:57] With such grace and artistry that the witnesses awarded the

[00:05:01] Driver both ears and the tail but i digress

[00:05:16] The moment had come

[00:05:17] I swallowed my gum

[00:05:19] We knew there'd be blood on the sand pretty soon

[00:05:25] The crowd held its breath

[00:05:27] Hoping that death

[00:05:28] Would brighten an otherwise dull afternoon

[00:05:34] At last the matador did what we wanted him to

[00:05:38] He raised his sword and his aim was true

[00:05:40] In that moment of truth i suddenly knew

[00:05:46] That someone had stolen my wallet

[00:05:57] Now it's fiesta time in akron ohio

[00:06:08] But it's back to old guadalajara i'm longing to go

[00:06:15] Far away from the strikes of the af of l and cio

[00:06:22] How i wish i could get back

[00:06:24] To the land of the wetback

[00:06:25] And forget the alamo

[00:06:29] In old mexico

[00:06:33] Olé
