Uneasy Rider ’88(Album Version)

[00:00:00] Uneasy Rider '88 - The Charlie Daniels Band

[00:00:10] Me and my buddy got us a wild hair

[00:00:12] And figured we wanted to go somewhere

[00:00:14] So we loaded up in my ragtop Chevrolet

[00:00:18] We had a little bit of money

[00:00:20] And a whole lot of show

[00:00:21] Adn with Hank Jr blaring on the radio

[00:00:23] We got us a tank full of gas

[00:00:24] And we was on our way

[00:00:27] We figured we'd go down to New Orleans

[00:00:29] We were barrelling down old seventeen

[00:00:32] When a man with a blinking red light

[00:00:34] Was on our tail

[00:00:36] He said you were doing sixty in a fourty-five

[00:00:38] But I'm gonna let you go this time

[00:00:40] But if I catch you again

[00:00:42] I'm gonna slap you in the county jail

[00:00:45] We said thank you sir you sure been nice

[00:00:47] And you ain't gonna have to tell us twice

[00:00:49] And we were Southbound and down with the wind

[00:00:51] Blowing in our faces

[00:00:54] We kept on rolling and pretty soon

[00:00:56] The radio was cooking out a Haggard tune

[00:00:58] And we were pulling into Houston

[00:01:00] Checking out all them places

[00:01:03] I was feeling dry and I said I think

[00:01:05] We ought to stop and get ourselves a drink

[00:01:07] And old Jim said yeah 'cause we got time to kill

[00:01:12] We kept on rolling and I seen this spot

[00:01:14] And we pulled into the parking lot

[00:01:16] Of this place called the Cloud Nine Bar and Grill

[00:01:21] We walked through the door

[00:01:22] And the place was jammed

[00:01:23] The lights were low they had a punk rock band

[00:01:25] And some orange haired feller singing about suicide

[00:01:30] I said Jim this ain't our kind of place

[00:01:32] He said well let's just have one round anyway

[00:01:34] So against my better judgement we walked on inside

[00:01:39] Went up to the bar and we sat down

[00:01:41] This feller walked up and said I'll buy this round

[00:01:43] And he sat down on the barstool next to Jim

[00:01:48] He looked like a girl but he talked like a guy

[00:01:50] He had lipstick on and mascara in his eyes

[00:01:52] And everybody in that place looked just about like him

[00:01:56] I said Jim this ain't our kind of bar

[00:01:59] Let's just go on out and get back in the car

[00:02:01] 'Cause there's gonna be trouble

[00:02:02] Ain't no sense in taking a chance

[00:02:06] We was getting up getting ready to leave

[00:02:08] When somebody grabbed old Jim by the sleeve

[00:02:10] And this good looking girl was asking my buddy to dance

[00:02:15] I said Jim don't do it there's something missing

[00:02:17] There's fellers dancing and fellers kissing

[00:02:19] There's a feller in high heeled shoes wearing panty hose

[00:02:23] He said partner I just can't turn this down

[00:02:26] You just go over there and have one more round

[00:02:28] And I'll dance with the lady

[00:02:29] And we'll get on down the road

[00:02:32] So he walked away and left me alone

[00:02:34] But this funny looking feller kept coming on

[00:02:36] And he was making me mad

[00:02:38] With some of the things he said

[00:02:41] Then he put his hand on my knee

[00:02:43] I said if you don't get your paw off me

[00:02:46] I'm gonna locate your nose around

[00:02:47] The other side of your head

[00:02:50] He said I love it when you get that fire in your eye

[00:02:53] I said well partner try this on for size

[00:02:55] And I unloaded on him and he went out like a light

[00:02:59] Everybody in that place must have been his friend

[00:03:01] They all headed for me I said this is the end

[00:03:04] But where I come from we don't give up

[00:03:06] Without a fight

[00:03:08] They were screaming and yelling and scratching and clawing

[00:03:10] I was punching and hitting and kicking and pawing

[00:03:13] I was holding my own 'cause I've been in a scrap or two

[00:03:17] Old Jim come running up out of the blue

[00:03:19] And that gal he was with come running up too

[00:03:21] And proceeded to beat on me with a high heel shoe

[00:03:26] I grabbed her by the hair it came off in my hand

[00:03:28] And that beautiful girl was just a beautiful man

[00:03:31] And old Jim just got sick right there on the floor

[00:03:35] He dropped that dude like a shot from a gun

[00:03:37] Smeared his lipstick made his makeup run

[00:03:40] And me and old Jim started fighting our way to the door

[00:03:44] We lit out of there in that Chevrolet

[00:03:46] I put in on the floor and it stayed that way

[00:03:49] We were going down the highway

[00:03:50] Doing about a hundred and ten

[00:03:53] We were headed for home and we was getting nearer

[00:03:55] Then a red light came on the rear view mirror

[00:03:58] And that same blame cop was pulling us over again

[00:04:02] Now I'm sitting here in this county jail

[00:04:04] I had to call my daddy to go our bail

[00:04:07] But I learned me a lesson

[00:04:08] That I never will forget again

[00:04:11] I've done give up drinking I've give up bars

[00:04:13] And running around the country in souped up cars

[00:04:16] I'm going back where the women are women

[00:04:17] And the men are men
