Buffalo Skinners

[00:00:00] Buffalo Skinners - Cisco Houston

[00:00:03] Come all you old time cowboys

[00:00:05] And listen to my song

[00:00:09] Please do not grow weary

[00:00:13] I'll not detain you long

[00:00:17] Concerning some wild cowboys

[00:00:21] Who did agree to go

[00:00:24] And spend the Summer pleasant

[00:00:27] On the range of the buffalo

[00:00:32] Well I found myself in Griffin in 1883

[00:00:39] When a well known famous

[00:00:40] Drover come walkin' up to me

[00:00:46] He said how do you do

[00:00:47] Young feller

[00:00:50] And how'd you like to go

[00:00:53] And spend the Summer pleasant

[00:00:56] On the trail of the buffalo

[00:01:00] Well me bein' out of work right then

[00:01:03] To that drover I did say

[00:01:06] This goin' out on the buffalo road

[00:01:10] Depends upon your pay

[00:01:14] If you'll pay good wages

[00:01:18] Transportation to and fro

[00:01:21] Well I think I might go with you

[00:01:24] On the range of the buffalo

[00:01:28] Yes I will pay good wages

[00:01:30] And transportation too

[00:01:34] If you'll agree to work for me

[00:01:37] Until the season's through

[00:01:41] But if you do grow homesick

[00:01:44] And try to run away

[00:01:47] You'll starve to death out on the trail

[00:01:50] And you'll also lose your pay

[00:01:56] Well with all this flatterin' talkin'

[00:01:59] Well he signed up quite a train

[00:02:03] Some ten or twelve in number

[00:02:07] All able bodied men

[00:02:11] Our trip it was a pleasant one

[00:02:14] As we hit the westward road

[00:02:17] Until we struck old Boggy Creek

[00:02:21] In old New Mexico

[00:02:25] Well here our pleasures ended

[00:02:28] And our troubles all begun

[00:02:31] When a lightin' storm hit us

[00:02:35] And it made the cattle run

[00:02:39] We got all full of stickers

[00:02:42] From the cactus that did grow

[00:02:46] And the outlaws waitin'

[00:02:47] To pick us off in old New Mexico

[00:02:54] Well our workin' season ended

[00:02:57] But that drover would not pay

[00:03:02] He said you went and drunk too much

[00:03:05] You're all in debt to me

[00:03:10] But the cowboys never had heard

[00:03:14] Of such a thing as a bankrupt law

[00:03:17] So we left that drover's bones

[00:03:19] To bleach on the range of the buffalo
