[00:00:22] We have an extensive reputation

[00:00:25] We make our home in Victoria Grove

[00:00:27] This is merely our centre of operation

[00:00:30] For we are incurably given to rove

[00:00:37] We are very well known in Cornwall Gardens

[00:00:40] In Launceston place and in Kensington Square

[00:00:43] We have really a little more reputation

[00:00:46] Than a couple of cats can very well bear

[00:00:53] If the area window is found ajar

[00:00:56] And the basement looks like a field of war

[00:00:59] If a tile or two comes loose on the roof

[00:01:02] Which presently fails to be waterproof

[00:01:04] If the drawers are pulled out from the bedroom chest

[00:01:07] And you can't find one of your winter vests

[00:01:10] All after supper one of the girls

[00:01:13] Suddenly misses her Woolworth pearls

[00:01:16] The family will say it's that horrible cat

[00:01:20] It was Mungojerrie or Rumpelteazer

[00:01:28] And most of the time they leave it at that

[00:01:42] Mungojerrie and Rumpelteazer have a very unusual gift of the gab

[00:01:47] We are highly efficient cat burglars as well

[00:01:50] And remarkably smart at a smash and grab

[00:01:53] We make our home in Victoria Grove

[00:01:56] We have no regular occupation

[00:01:58] We are plausible fellows who like to engage

[00:02:01] A friendly policeman in conversation

[00:02:09] When the family assembles for Sunday dinner

[00:02:12] With their minds made up that they won't get thinner

[00:02:15] On Argentine joint potatoes and greens

[00:02:17] And the cook will appear from behind the scenes

[00:02:21] And say in a voice that is broken with sorrow

[00:02:23] I'm afraid you must wait and have dinner tomorrow

[00:02:26] For the joint has gone from the oven like that

[00:02:28] The family will say it's that horrible cat

[00:02:34] It was Mungojerrie or Rumpelteazer

[00:02:41] And most of the time they leave it at that

[00:02:44] Mungojerrie and Rumpelteazer have a wonderful way of working together

[00:02:49] And some of the time you would say it was luck

[00:02:52] And some of the time you would say it was weather

[00:02:55] We go through the house like a hurricane

[00:02:57] And no sober person could take his oath

[00:03:00] Was it Mungojerrie or Rumpelteazer

[00:03:03] Or could you have sworn that it mightn't be both

[00:03:06] And when you hear a dining room smash

[00:03:09] Or up from the pantry there comes a loud crash

[00:03:12] Or down from the library there comes a loud ping

[00:03:14] From a vase that was commonly said to be Ming

[00:03:17] The family will say now which was which cat

[00:03:22] It was Mungojerrie and Rumpelteazer

[00:03:29] And there's nothing at all to be done about that
