[00:00:23] Two men came and got me

[00:00:26] I was speeding through their town

[00:00:29] Well they said tomorrow morning

[00:00:31] You can see the judge then go

[00:00:34] They let me call one person on the phone

[00:00:38] I thought I'd be there overnight

[00:00:40] So I just called my boss

[00:00:42] To tell him I'd be off but not for long

[00:00:46] Well they motioned me inside

[00:00:48] A cell with seven other guys

[00:00:51] One little barred up window in the rear

[00:00:55] My cellmates said if they had

[00:00:57] Let me bring some money in

[00:00:59] We ought to send the jailer for some beer

[00:01:03] Well I had to pay him double cause

[00:01:06] He was the man in charge

[00:01:08] And the jailers job was not the best in town

[00:01:12] Later on his wife brought hot bologna

[00:01:14] Eggs and gravy

[00:01:16] The first day I was there I turned it down

[00:01:21] Well next morning they just let us sleep

[00:01:23] But I was up real early

[00:01:25] Wonderin' when I'd get my release

[00:01:29] Later on we got more hot bologna

[00:01:32] Eggs and gravy

[00:01:33] And by now I wasn't quite so hard to please

[00:01:38] Two days later when I thought that

[00:01:40] I had been forgotten

[00:01:42] The sheriff came in chewin on a straw

[00:01:46] He said where is the guy who thinks

[00:01:48] That this is indianapolis

[00:01:50] I'd like to talk to him about the law

[00:01:55] Well I told him who I was and told him

[00:01:57] I was working steady

[00:01:59] And I really should be gettin' on my way

[00:02:03] That part about me bein' who

[00:02:05] I was did not impress him

[00:02:08] He said the judgell be here any day

[00:02:12] The jailer had a wife and let me

[00:02:14] Tell you she was awful

[00:02:16] But she brought that hot bologna every day

[00:02:20] And after seven days she got to

[00:02:23] Lookin' so much better

[00:02:24] I asked her if she'd like to run away

[00:02:29] The next mornin' that old judge

[00:02:30] Took every nickel that I had

[00:02:33] And he said son

[00:02:34] Let this teach you not to race

[00:02:37] The jailers wife was smilin'

[00:02:39] From the window as I left

[00:02:41] In thirty minutes I was out of state
