[00:00:33] They paid and went into the zoo

[00:00:35] Where they'd lions and tigers and cam els

[00:00:38] And old ale and sandwiches too

[00:00:41] There were one great big lion called Wallace

[00:00:45] His nose was all covered with scars

[00:00:47] He lay in a som no lent posture

[00:00:50] With the side of his face on the bars

[00:00:53] Now Albert had heard about lions

[00:00:55] How they were ferocious and wild

[00:00:58] To see Wallace lying so peaceful

[00:01:01] Well it didn't seem right to the child

[00:01:03] So straight way the brave little feller

[00:01:06] Not showing a morsel of fear

[00:01:08] Took is stick with these orse's ead andle

[00:01:11] And shoved it in Wallace's ear

[00:01:14] You could see that the lion didn't like it

[00:01:17] For giving a kind of a roll

[00:01:19] He pulled Albert inside the cage with him

[00:01:22] And swallowed the little lad whole

[00:01:25] Then Pa who had seen the occurrence

[00:01:28] And didn't know what to do next

[00:01:30] Said Mother Yon lions ate Albert

[00:01:34] And Mother said Eeh I am vexed

[00:01:38] Then Mr and Mrs Ramsbottom

[00:01:39] Quite rightly when all's said and done

[00:01:42] Complained to the Animal Keeper

[00:01:44] That the lion had eaten their son

[00:01:47] The keeper was quite nice about it

[00:01:50] He said What a nasty mishap

[00:01:53] Are you sure that it's your boy he's eaten

[00:01:56] Pa said Am I sure There's his cap

[00:01:59] The manager had to be sent for

[00:02:01] He came and he said What's to do

[00:02:04] Pa said Yon lion's eaten Albert

[00:02:06] And him in his Sunday clothes too

[00:02:09] Then Mother said Right's right young feller

[00:02:11] I think it's a shame and a sin

[00:02:14] For a lion to go and eat Albert

[00:02:16] And after we've paid to come in

[00:02:18] The manager wanted no trouble

[00:02:20] He took out his purse right away

[00:02:22] Saying How much to settle the matter

[00:02:25] Pa said What do you usually pay

[00:02:27] But Mother had turned a bit awkward

[00:02:30] When she thought where her Albert had gone

[00:02:32] She said No someone's got to be summonsed

[00:02:36] So that was decided upon

[00:02:38] Then after they went to the Police Station

[00:02:40] In front of a Magistrate chap

[00:02:42] They told him what happened to Albert

[00:02:44] And proved it by showing his cap

[00:02:47] The Magistrate gave his opinion

[00:02:50] That no one was really to blame

[00:02:53] And he said that he hoped the Ramsbottoms

[00:02:55] Would have further sons to their name

[00:02:58] At that Mother got proper blazing

[00:03:01] And thank you sir kindly said she

[00:03:05] What waste all our lives raising children

[00:03:08] To feed ruddy lions Not me
