《Bowl of Oranges》歌词

Bowl of Oranges

[00:00:01] Bowl Of Oranges - Bright Eyes

[00:00:02] The rain it started tapping on the window near my bed There was a loophole in my dreaming

[00:00:08] So I got out of it And to my surprise my eyes were wide and already open

[00:00:15] Just my nightstand and my dresser where those nightmares had just been

[00:00:20] So I dressed myself and left then out into the gray streets

[00:00:24] But everything seemed different and completely new to me

[00:00:28] The sky the trees houses buildings even my own body

[00:00:33] And each person I encountered I couldn't wait to meet

[00:00:37] I came upon a doctor who appeared in quite poor health

[00:00:41] I said "I am terribly sorry but there is nothing I can do for you

[00:00:44] You can't do for yourself "

[00:00:45] He said "Oh yes you can Just hold my hand I think that would help "

[00:00:51] So I sat with him a while and then I asked him how he felt

[00:00:55] He said "I think I'm cured No in fact I'm sure

[00:01:02] Thank you Stranger for your therapeutic smile "

[00:01:27] So that is how I learned the lesson that everyone is alone

[00:01:31] And your eyes must do some raining if you are ever going to grow

[00:01:35] But when crying don't help and you can't compose yourself

[00:01:37] It is best to compose a poem an honest verse of longing or simple song of hope

[00:01:44] That is why I'm singing

[00:01:45] Baby don't worry cause now I got your back And every time you feel like crying

[00:01:51] I'm gonna try and make you laugh And if I can't if it just hurts too bad

[00:01:56] Then we will wait for it to pass and I will keep you company

[00:02:00] Through those days so long and black

[00:02:02] And we'll keep working on the problem we know we'll never solve

[00:02:07] Of Love's uneven remainders our lives are fractions of a whole

[00:02:11] But if the world could remain within a frame like a painting on a wall

[00:02:16] Then I think we would see the beauty

[00:02:18] Then we would stand staring in awe at our still lives posed like a bowl of oranges

[00:02:27] Like a story told by the fault lines and the soil
