《Nina》歌词

[00:00:00] Nina - Noel Coward
[00:00:04] Written by:Coward
[00:00:26] Seсorita Nina from Argentina knew all the answers
[00:00:30] Though her relatives and friends were perfect dancers
[00:00:32] She swore she'd never dance a step until she died
[00:00:36] She said I've seen too many movies and all they prove is too idiotic
[00:00:40] They all insist that South America's exotic
[00:00:43] Where it couldn't be more boring if it tried
[00:00:47] She added firmly that she hated
[00:00:49] The sound of soft guitars beside a still lagoon
[00:00:52] She also positively stated
[00:00:54] That she could not abide a Southern moon
[00:00:57] She refused to Begin The Beguine when they requested it
[00:01:03] And she made an embarrassing scene if anyone suggested it
[00:01:08] For she detested it
[00:01:14] Though no one ever could be keener than little Nina
[00:01:17] On quite a number of very eligible men who did the rhumba
[00:01:21] When they proposed to her she simply left them flat
[00:01:24] She said that love should be impulsive but not convulsive
[00:01:29] And syncopation had a discouraging effect on procreation
[00:01:34] And that she'd rather read a book and that was that
[00:01:46] Seс orita Nina from Argentina despised the Tango
[00:01:50] Although she never was a girl to let a man go
[00:01:53] She wouldn't sacrifice her principles for sex
[00:01:56] She looked with scorn on the gyrations
[00:01:58] Of her relations who danced the conga
[00:02:01] And swore that if she had to stand it any longer
[00:02:04] She'd lose all dignity and wring their silly necks
[00:02:07] She said that frankly she was blinded
[00:02:10] To all the over advertised romantic charms
[00:02:15] And then she got more bloody minded
[00:02:17] And told them where to put their tropic palms
[00:02:20] She said I hate to be pedantic but I'm driven nearly frantic
[00:02:23] When I see that unromantic sycophantic lot of sluts
[00:02:27] Forever wriggling their guts
[00:02:30] It drives me absolutely nuts
[00:02:33] She declined to Begin The Beguine when they besought her to
[00:02:39] And with language profane and obscene she cursed the man who taught her to
[00:02:45] She cursed Cole Porter too
[00:02:51] From this it's fairly clear that Nina in her demeanour
[00:02:55] Was so offensive that when the hatred of her friends grew too intensive
[00:02:59] She thought she'd better beat it while she had the chance
[00:03:03] After some trial and tribulation she reached the station
[00:03:08] And met a sailor who had acquired a wooden leg in Venezuela
[00:03:12] And so he married him because he couldn't dance
[00:03:16] There surely never could've been a
[00:03:19] More irritating girl than Nina
[00:03:22] They never speak in Argentina
[00:03:24] Of this degenerate bambina
[00:03:28] Who had the luck to find romance
[00:03:33] But resolutely wouldn't dance
[00:03:41] She would dance for it
